The Rad Power Bikes RadWagon 5 is the reigning flagship of long-tail cargo e-bikes, fundamentally re-engineered to fix almost every design quirk of previous generations. Instead of simply updating the parts, Rad Power completely shrunk and lowered the frame, shifting the battery location to maximize stability when fully loaded.

The most monumental upgrades are under the hood: it introduces a highly responsive torque sensor for immediate power delivery, transitions to standard 20-inch wheels for effortless aftermarket tire sourcing, and debuts the Safe Shield battery, which encapsulates individual cells in a thermal-resistant resin to isolate and prevent overheating risks. It is a highly refined, heavy-hauling vehicle built to replace a secondary car for family duties and heavy utility work.

• Power & Performance: Motored by an optimized 750W geared rear hub motor that pushes out a beefy 90Nm of torque (a massive 55% jump over older models), providing immense pulling power to haul cargo up steep inclines from a dead stop.

The thermal potting resin around the Samsung/LG cells protects against thermal events, pushing an estimated range of 20 to 60 miles.
• Drivetrain & Speed: Operates as a class-customizable machine. It ships as a Class 2 bike (20 mph max) but easily unlocks via the full-color display to a Class 3 speedster hitting 28 mph on pedal assist. It pairs a Shimano 7-speed drivetrain with an extra-wide 11-34T freewheel to completely eliminate "ghost pedaling" at high speeds.
• Brakes, Wheels, & Suspension: Dropping anchor is handled by heavy-duty Tektro hydraulic disc brakes (180mm rotors). The front end upgrades to an RST Guide 45mm travel suspension fork paired with a secure front thru-axle. It rolls on stable, custom-engineered 20x3.3-inch Kenda tires.

• Utility & Electronics: Weighs 86 pounds and supports a robust 375-pound total payload capacity (with the frame-integrated rear cargo deck rated for a heavy 120 pounds).
